I am a comics scholar and psychotherapist with a PhD in English from Kent State University and a Master of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University. I love giving lectures on comics, writing about the medium, and working with libraries on their comic book programming and collection development.

I am currently the Ohio Center for the Book Scholar-in-Residence at Cleveland Public Library, where I co-lead the "Get Graphic" program. I am also a Maternal Depression Therapist at OhioGuidestone, an Instructor at Cleveland Institute of Art, and American Editor of the Journal of Graphic Novels and Comics.
